The Journey: Lush Forests to Snowy Peaks

The trek to Pathivara is a sensory transition. Starting from Kafle Pati, the trail winds through dense rhododendron forests that erupt into a vibrant palette of red and pink during the spring (March–May). As you ascend, the forest thins to reveal staggering views of the Kanchenjunga massif, the world’s third-highest peak. The final climb is a series of stone steps that test your stamina but reward you with a 360-degree panorama of the eastern Himalayas, including Kumbhakarna and Makalu.
